Star of HBOmax Solo Comedy Special "FIGHTING WORDS" Aida Rodriguez performs her latest comedy set and opens for CHIRLA's feature film America's Family on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 5 pm as part of our kick-off for NIIC! America's Family features the five stories of a separated mixed ethnic, mixed status family and their journey to reunite. When ICE officers raid the Diaz family home over Thanksgiving, a domino effect ensues and the family is split. Mother Marisol is arrested and detained, eldest son Koke is deported to Mexico and father Jorge flees to a synagogue for protective sanctuary. The two American born children left intact; freshman attorney Emiliano and his differently-abled teen sister Valentina, scramble to do whatever they can to reunite their family while their parents and brother do what they have to to get home. As each family member fights to reunite they discover that the strength and commitment of the family is much stronger than they think.
