Murad Awawdeh is the Executive Vice President of Advocacy & Strategy at the New York Immigration Coalition, where he oversees the Coalition's Political, Civic, Community and Member Engagement departments. Through his work, Murad has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, while successfully campaigning for the passage of dozens of bills of legislation to protect and support low-income communities of color. Currently, Murad serves as a Commissioner on the NYC Civic Engagement Commission; Board President of Yalla Brooklyn; Trustee of the NYU Family Health Centers; President Emeritus of the Muslim Democratic Club of NY, and Chair of the Immigration Committee for the Justice 2020 Initiative.
