Zulema Chavero
Zulema Chavero started her work as a community organizer with Somos Un Pueblo UNIDO in 2008. She and her sisters, with whom she’s close, were born in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Their father was a worker for a cement factory and their mother has always own a little grocery store “tiendita.” She moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2004. She and her husband have two children: a daughter, 14 and a son, 9. Zulema studied law at The Autonomous University of Querétaro and earned a master’s on criminal justice with the Institute of Criminal Sciences Specialists.
