Arash Azizzada

Arash Azizzada is an Afghan-American immigrant and community organizer. He is the founding co-director of Afghans For A Better Tomorrow, a grassroots community and advocacy organization whose work stretches from the the US-Mexico border in California to New York City. AFBT was started ahead of the United States' withdrawal from Afghanistan, as a culmination of years of advocacy demanding a responsible military withdrawal. Initially, he led evacuation efforts of at-risk Afghans and rapid-response efforts across the United States. Today, he organizes the Afghan-American community through grassroots organizing, direct service support and capacity building in order to bring about a better tomorrow to ensure new Afghan arrivals can lead dignified lives. He also serves on the board of Afghan Cultural Society based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and has been featured in the New York and LA Times, the Washington Post, NPR as well as on Netflix's "Unknown: Killer Robots."
