Chris Baca

Chris Baca is the Director of Humanitarian & Migrant Assistance at the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, where he leads the local migrant response efforts and oversees a team of highly committed individuals providing comprehensive wraparound services to newcomers. Prior to joining CHIRLA, Chris held several roles at JFS San Diego’s Refugee Resettlement department, where he managed and implemented programming related to workforce development, digital and financial literacy, resettlement services, and volunteer management, and helped establish San Diego’s first migrant shelter in 2018. Chris holds a BA in International Security and & Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and a Master of Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of Studies at Monterey, where he focused on Migration and Global Governance.
