Margaret Cargioli

Margaret Cargioli is Directing Attorney of Policy and Advocacy at Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef), one of the largest non-profit organizations providing legal representation, advocacy, and deportation defense to marginalized immigrant communities in California. Margaret has a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science from Boston University, an M.A. in International Relations from The University of Chicago, and a J.D. from The City University of New York School of Law.  Margaret served as a law clerk at the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division. As part of ImmDef’s Litigation and Advocacy project, she works on advocacy and policy initiatives related to universal representation, border issues and access to asylum, deported veterans, due process, and access to counsel. Margaret is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Asylum and Refugee Committee.
