José G. Miranda

José G. Miranda is a Senior Staff Attorney in the Climate Department at the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) working to forge and expand legal protections for climate displaced people. José was previously an attorney in the US Legal Services Department at IRAP, where he provided direct legal representation to refugees and displaced persons seeking resettlement or parole, US wartime allies seeking Special Immigrant Visas, refugees seeking family reunification in the US, and migrants seeking asylum in the US. José was an Immigrant Justice Corps fellow at Catholic Migration Services, where he provided free legal representation to detained and non-detained immigrants seeking relief from deportation. José earned a J.D. at Columbia Law School andis a native Spanish speaker. He is a member of the New York bar, and a board member of South Brooklyn Sanctuary, a non-profit that trains volunteers to provide support to immigrants who cannot afford attorneys.
