Emily Yaffe
Emily Yaffe is a civil servant with over a decade of experience in collaborative community development and the first Language Access Manager for the City of San Antonio. She is working to improve access for residents who are linguistically diverse, focusing on intentional engagement efforts. In her role, she provides guidance to City departments, supporting them in effectively removing language barriers for individuals. Emily facilitates staff training on best practices and their responsibilities, manages language services contracts, and oversees compliance with language access regulations. Before moving to the City of San Antonio, she managed the Immigrant Integration programming for the City of Charlotte, North Carolina. She started and managed the Language Access Program and the City’s welcoming initiatives. Emily is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in the Dominican Republic, where she supported the community with economic development programs and managed the national entrepreneurship youth group program.
