Melissa Garlick is the Senior Planner for Policy and Advocacy of the Safety and Fairness for Everyone (SAFE) Network at Vera’s Center on Immigration and Justice. Melissa’s work focuses on advocacy to advance universal representation for people facing deportation. Previously, she was the Civil Rights National Counsel at ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), where she led policy and advocacy work on immigrant and refugee rights as well as a range of civil rights issues. Before ADL, Melissa served as Legislative Director for Massachusetts State Senator Jamie Eldridge. She holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
