Imelda Salazar
Imelda Salazar is an organizer with Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) and a longtime champion for justice and immigrant rights in Southwest Chicago. Imelda is known for her understanding of organizing and engaging on community issues and for her engagement with others as she works to develop workable and winnable solutions. She encourages others to build power. She is one of the fourteen recipients of the 2019 Leaders for a New Chicago Award given by The Field Foundation of Illinois and McArthur Foundation.
