Mariela Ruiz-Angel
Mariela Ruiz-Angel is the Coordinator for the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs for the City of Albuquerque, where she focuses on citizenship and language access initiatives within OIRA’s overall mission of advocating and promoting a city-wide culture that values the successful integration of immigrants and refugees into civic, economic, and cultural life. Previously, she held leadership roles in various industries, including education, business development, and corporate customer relations. She is a proud Chicana and Ecuatoriana, born and raised in the border town of El Paso. Mariela holds an MBA in Human Resources and an MSW in Leadership and Administration.
