Ama Frimpong
Ama joined CASA as Legal Director in 2022, bringing to the organization a wealth of experience supporting and advocating for low-income, Black and Brown, and immigrant populations. Throughout her legal practice, Ama has represented, supervised, and mentored cases before various immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, ICE, CBP, and several criminal and civil courts in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. In her role as CASA’s Legal Director, Ama oversees the delivery of high-quality legal services in the areas of immigration, employment, and housing law, and supports the organization’s policy advocacy and organizing priorities. Prior to joining CASA, Ama was a Managing Attorney at the Amica Center for Immigrants’ Rights (formerly CAIR Coalition), leading direct legal services for detained adults and unaccompanied children in the D.C. area. Ama is a 2011 graduate of Salem College, and a 2014 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law.
