Shana Hardin

Shana Hardin is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Houston, where her dissertation examines the impact of women's increased representation in state legislatures and its societal implications. She serves as a Research Fellow at New American Leaders (NAL), where she played a key role in developing the New American Candidate Database (NACD), which tracks the representation of state legislative candidates who are first- or second-generation Americans. In addition, Shana works on projects that evaluate New American representation in politics, identifying barriers and pathways to political office for underrepresented groups.
