Aaron Nodjomian-Escajeda
Growing up in the border town of El Paso, Texas, Aaron has always been surrounded by rich migrant, binational, and bicultural communities. With a background in social work, he aims to apply a person-centered lens to some of the most challenging issues facing immigrants today. Aaron is a Licensed Master Social Worker who started working with asylum seekers in 2015. Having worked as a case manager, he is dedicated to advocating for vulnerable populations. Aaron now serves as a Senior Policy Analyst at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), specializing in anti-human trafficking and asylum policy. His work spans the U.S.-Mexico border, the Mediterranean, and South and Southeast Asia. Aaron has a double master’s in social work and public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. In his free time, he enjoys running, spending time with his husband and their dog, Minnie, and building community with friends.
