Laura Rivera

Laura Rivera serves as Policy Counsel with Just Futures Law, lending legal support to grassroots groups organizing against criminalization and surveillance. For ten years, Laura has worked with immigrant and BIPOC communities in the South to advance and defend their legal and human rights. She has litigated class action cases against government agencies and directed a program that provides direct representation to detained immigrants in removal proceedings in Georgia and Louisiana. She has also represented farmworkers in wage theft and trafficking cases. Laura graduated from Emory University, New York University, and Emory Law School. She previously worked as a reporter in New York and Puerto Rico.
