Gillian Rowland-Kain
Gillian is the proud granddaughter of Irish immigrants and has a strong commitment to human rights and social justice. As the Legal Access Senior Program Manager at Immigrant ARC, Gillian launched and runs I-ARC’s Friend of Court program, delivering weekly assistance to pro se respondents in two of New York City’s immigration courts. Gillian also plays a pivotal role in rapid response efforts, organizing and executing the first-of-its-kind EAD Clinic in collaboration with the City, State, and federal government that served 1700 clients in October 2023. This model has since been duplicated nationwide. Additionally, she has coordinated clinics for TPS and asylum in the Capital District. Gillian earned her Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law, a Master of Science in Human Rights and International Politics from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Connecticut College. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
